Going to the "Royal"!
American Royal Invitational and Open Barbecue Championship 2009
Our cross country journey to Kansas City, MO begins on Tuesday the 29th of September. The Royal is the
largest BBQ Competition (party) in the World. The Open Championship in some years hosts 500 teams.
Tom will be driving along with teammates Lynnae Oxley and Don Huddleston. Kay will not be flying out to
join them this time. She would prefer to use her time off to go to Hawaii a couple weeks later. She will be
missed, but the road trip must go on. Tom spent the past weekend cleaning the pit inside and out. The
excitement is starting to build! This page will contain notes from the road and the competition. Stay tuned
