About Us
Our BBQ Beginings
We are a competition BBQ team and vendor located in the
Seattle area. After years of serious grilling and smoking in
our backyard, our journey on the BBQ competition trail began
when we became Kansas City Barbeque Society Certified
Barbeque Judges. We made friends, had fun and ate great
BBQ.
However, after judging a few competitions, the itch to
compete and share our food with others took over. Everyone
has their own theory on how to make the best barbeque. We
wanted to test ours.

The team consists of Tom Wallin (aka Dances with Smoke) and
Kay Wallin (aka She Who Does Dishes). We are frequently
joined by friends and family at events. Every team needs taste
testers. We now compete all over the US and Canada, including
the American Royal Invitational in Kansas City and the Jack
Daniels World Invitational BBQ Championship in Lynchburg, TN.
Tom just finished serving two years as the President of the
Pacific Northwest BBQ Association (www.pnwba.com), and will
remain on the Board of Directors for one more year. This year
(2009) the association put on 37 events covering the 4 western
US states and the 4 western provinces of Canada.
